Council Snubbed
Perkinsfield Parks and Recreation Committee held a dance under the “new roof” on Saturday, August 12, 1995 to celebrate the opening. In a letter to one of the local media, Gail Barrie complained: “not one member of council made an appearance”. She neglected to tell you why. The members of the present Township Council took over the project and brought it to its conclusion, yet not one member of Council received an invitation to the gala opening organized by the Perkinsfield Parks and Recreation Committee. Perhaps Gail Barrie should chastize the Committee for failing to invite the members of Council rather than accuse the members of Council of absenteeism.
