NEW Tiny Factsheet on Shoreline Ownership and Work Along the Shoreline

The Township has prepared an updated Fact Sheet on Shoreline Ownership and Work Along the Shorelines. Given the many kilometres of shoreline and the fluctuating Georgian Bay water levels, any shoreline works or site alteration, including repair or installation of new shore walls/groynes, is subject to compliance with all federal, provincial and municipal regulations. It is the responsibility of the property owner to obtain and/or provide any required work permits or approvals through the Department of Fisheries and Ocean (DFO), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) in conjunction with any required Building Permit Application or Municipal Property Access Application through the Township. The Fact Sheet also includes Best Practices/Stewardship Guide for Shoreline Properties and can be found on the Township website.
