According to an article in Simcoe.com, Midland has put forth a position paper supporting an amalgamated north Simcoe. The position paper offers a new vision for north Simcoe. The article states that according to Midland’s Mayor “officials in Tiny Township are concerned about possible implications on their tax rates, while Tay Township representatives are worried about rural communities losing their identity and seeing all the attention given to the larger urban centres. Once Tiny and Tay were out, Penetanguishene officials saw no reason to continue on.” Read the full article here
